Hemp Testing

Hemp, a plant that mankind has known and cultivated for thousands of years, has become more popular than ever in recent years thanks to compounds that have been credited with numerous health benefits - cannabinoids. In addition, due to the high content of protein and the specific composition of fatty acids, food derived from hemp seeds (oil, flour, pasta, etc.) is becoming increasingly popular.

The best known cannabinoid is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the use of which is strictly limited due to its psychoactive effects. However, there are a number of cannabinoids that do not have psychoactive effects. The most famous among them is cannabidiol (CBD), the main ingredient of CBD oil.

Food is produced from the so-called industrial hemp characterized by a low content of THC (less than 0.2% in the dry matter of the plant), and a high content of other cannabinoids.

There are two main reasons for cannabinoid analysis - checking the THC content in industrial hemp, and determining the profile of cannabinoids in industrial hemp products to determine their quality.

In hemp and its products we determine cannabidiol (CBD), cannabidiol acid (CBDA), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabigerol acid (CBG), cannabinol (CBN), Δ9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) and tetrahydrocannabinol acid by LC/MS/MS.
